Set as a tranquil oasis on a working farm midway between Heilbron and Frankfort in the Northern Free State, Francolin Creek portrays a humble mix of true South African history and modern accommodation. The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa has graded Francolin Creek as a four-star lodge in the Country House category and service is a priority at this family owned and managed farm Retreat.
There are several bird species on the farm, and in particular, the Francolin roams in abundance. This is the motivation for the name of the farm, Francolin Creek. The guesthouse boasts a superb 14-unit portfolio, and has the facilities to spoil 28 overnight guests. Our new bush camp comprises of 4 safari tents (sleeping 8 guests) allowing you to immerse yourself in the African wilderness.
The magic of a Free State thunderstorm accompanied by the option of a traditional farm-style home cooked meal is true to the atmosphere of the Lodge. Dotted with millions of bright stars, the night sky is the only roof to the vast and rolling grasslands, stocked with game a plenty and the magic of Africa in its most potent form.
